The 12h of Bathurst is on the agenda for today. The Bathurst 12 Hour is a 12-hour endurance race staged on the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. This event serves as the opening round to the Intercontinental GT Challenge Series in the real world.
WPR Racing competed in this 12-hour endurance race with the following two teams.
WPR Racing Team Orange
Car: Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo
Drivers: Remko Barlow, Mike van der Veer, Sander Reij, Wesley Geelhoed and Ferdinand Geertman
WPR Racing Team Blue
Car: BMW M4 GT3
Drivers: Peter den Otter, Xander van Herwijnen and Fabian van Schajik
The race itself went not so good for Team Blue, although we had a very promising start from Peter den Otter in the two stints at the beginning they still ended up with a DNF due to a crash with someone else on the track.
The race from Team Orange ended up in a P13, we had a bad qualy run with P34, but in the beginning of the race we managed to make a lot of positions good up to P19 in the first 10 laps. During the 12 hour race we had two crashes/collisions with others on the track, due to mistakes of others. This resulted in a total of 10 laps of repairs. If we did not have that two forced repairs in the pits we had ended up in P1. This means we drove a very consistent race, with everyone bringing a descent pace. Well done Mike, Sander, Wesley Remko and Ferdinand.
Up to the next iRacing special: 12 hour of Sebring. Were we fight for the top positions again. This time at the headquarter of our sponsor MJKSIMRACING.
